Teufelsberg 2026

From 17 to 19 September 2026, Teufelsberg will become a temporary working site for people and organisations dealing with questions that cut across responsibilities, sectors and time horizons. As a partner, Teufelsberg brings not only a striking and unconventional setting, but a spirit of openness, artistic experimentation, and collective reinvention that will shape the Camp's atmosphere and inform its conversations.

From a Shared Direction to Carrying the Work Forward

The program takes a journey through Berlin. On Teufelsberg, the landscape, history, and geographical distance create a unique “Campsite” for perception and exploration.

At Medulla, these questions return to an urban collaboration space where we gather the field. On the third day, back on Teufelsberg, further refined questions become next steps.

The walks up and down the Mountain on Thursday and Saturday are part of the Camp: these walks through Grunewald serve as the shared opening and closing rituals for days spent on Teufelsberg.

Note that session blocks include multiple sessions taking place simultaneously. Please select only one session per time slot by registering for each individually on Luma.

Thursday, 17 September

Teufelsberg · 14:00 – 19:00

14:00 – 15:00 · Setting out together

Walk up to Teufelsberg

Our meeting point is the Würst’l stand just outside the Heerstraße S-Bahn station. From there, we walk together through Grunewald and up the Mountain.

15:00 – 15:45 · Arriving and finding our bearings

Welcome Session · Beatgarden

The Camp community gathers for the first time: an orientation for the three days ahead, an encounter with the place and a shared opening. Finger food and drinks will be generously provided by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.

16:00 – 18:15 · Choosing a resilience container

Five sessions take place in parallel:

Wenn’s drauf ankommt …

How can foresight, participation, and public sector innovation help cities remain capable of action under increasingly difficult conditions?

Becoming Tree

Once an urban tree is understood as a living relationship and a form of public infrastructure, what changes in public decision-making?

Reimagining Public Libraries

How can Berlin’s libraries strengthen resilience while protecting already stretched teams from carrying even more responsibility?

Exploring Teufelsberg’s Military History

A walk with ex-West German personnel once stationed here: How can place-based stories help us stay in conversation as international relations become more unstable?

Live Drawing the Other

Drawing as a way to notice how we see—at a place built for surveillance.

18:15 – 19:00 · Reflecting and sensemaking

Walk down from Teufelsberg

The shared walk through the forest back to Heerstraße S-Bahn station offers time to continue conversations and process the day.

Friday, 18 September

Medulla · Dresdener Straße 113B Courtyard · 10:00 – 22:00

On Friday, we move from the forest into the heart of Berlin: the Kreuzberg / Mitte border. The day creates space for three longer working sessions and culminates in a shared Assembly.

10:00 – 12:00 · Recognising interdependencies

Risiken im Zusammenspiel

What would a future climate risk assessment need to recognise when the next event hits a system already altered by previous pressures?

13:00 – 16:00 · Going deeper and replenishing capacity

Two sessions take place in parallel:

Life Repair Kit: Tools for Tough Times

What keeps us alive, adaptable and capable of action, while moving resilience beyond the expectation to endure in perpetuity?

Planetary Berlin: Governing Hydrological Continuities

How can water be governed at the scale of its actual relationships – i.e. transcending institutional boundaries?

18:00 – 22:00 · Gathering the field

Public Vitality Field Assembly

What becomes visible when we view the Camp as a connected field of questions, relationships and action?

The Assembly brings session hosts, participants, partners and other contributors together. It connects insights from the sessions, surfaces tensions and explores possible next steps.

Please bring your own drinks and, if you can, food to share.

Saturday, 19 September

Teufelsberg · 14:00 – 20:00

14:00 – 14:45 · Returning together

Walk up to Teufelsberg

Our second shared ascent begins once again from the Würst’l stand outside the Heerstraße S-Bahn station.

15:00 – 18:00 · Working on concrete possibilities

Five sessions take place in parallel:

When Speed Meets Public Voice

How can public participation become part of accelerated housing decisions while overcoming the delays the Bau-Turbo legislation seeks to address?

Blackout Krisenkommunikation

How can crisis communication remain reliable and inclusive when the infrastructures it usually depends on fail?

Maps of Ruins and Dreams

What becomes visible when we map relationships, gaps and tensions alongside the recognised structures of a system?

Berlin Heat Risk Clinic

How can Berlin connect existing capacities, lived experience and institutional action into a shared, long-term capability? Participation by invitation only.

Lebendige Stadt als gemeinsame Aufgabe

How can responsibility and resources be distributed so that living urban spaces can be sustained and developed as commons over time?

18:00 – 19:00 · Distilling what matters

Closing Session · Beatgarden

We bring together insights from across the three days. What deserves to be carried forward, who needs to be involved, and which relationships require care beyond the Camp?

19:00 – 20:00 · Returning to the city

Walk down from Teufelsberg

The shared descent closes the Camp—and marks the transition into the next 100 days.
